About the role:
 		The Bevel Room Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring beveling and edging machinery to process materials with precision. This role is crucial to ensuring that product edges are finished to specification, contributing directly to the quality of the final product. The operator must be detail-oriented and safety-conscious, adept in quickly identifying and correcting issues to maintain production quality and efficiency.
 
Responsibilities:Machine Setup and Operation:
  • Prepare and set up beveling and edging machines according to production requirements.
  • Adjust calibrated gauges, handwheels, and other controls to ensure that grinding wheels operate within close tolerances.
  • Use hand tools to assemble product and test function.
  • Load/Unload and basic operation of drill, band saw, CNC mill and vibratory tumbler.
Quality Control and Monitoring:
  • Visually and manually check beveled and polished edges for smoothness and accuracy.
  • Reject or set aside defective products and adjust machine settings as needed, ensuring that all outputs meet strict quality standards.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
  • Perform routine cleaning of the machine and the work area, maintaining a contamination-free environment crucial for high-quality beveled finishes.
  • Conduct minor repairs and routine maintenance such as cleaning off polishing compound residues, adjusting settings, or lubricating machine parts.
  • Escalate technical or persistent faults to the maintenance team or supervisors for further intervention.
  • Must be able to meet the daily job assignment set by Production Supervisor, and consistently produce high-quality work.
  • Ability to listen and follow through with instructions.
  • Must be self-motivated you will be working independently.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
Candidate requirements:
 
  • On-the job training is provided
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform precision tasks with keen eyesight and focus.
  • Requires find motor skills for precise handling of tools, gages and equipment.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods
