Job Summary:

Builds and modifies tools, dies, jigs, molds, and fixtures using precision bench and machining operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Conducts tests for completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications
  • Cuts, shapes and trims blocks to make adjustments
  • Grinds and adjusts different parts to properly fit them together
  • Selects metals to be used based on properties
  • Ability to maintain tight tolerances
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Qualifications:
  • Manual dexterity
  • Detail oriented
  • Organizational skills
  • Experience with the use Surface Grinders
  • Experience with Manual Bridgeport machining
  • Experience with Manual Lathe machining
  • Experience with General Drill Press work
  • Experience with the use of Lap Belt machines
Education Requirements:

Preferred Vocational/Technical Education

Years of Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years - Maximum of 6 years of experience. 
  • Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter. Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group. May act as a lead or first-level supervisor. Typically requires accreditation from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program and 4 to 6 years of experience.
