About the role:
 		Individual will be operating a lapping machine to remove material from gage blocks as part of the manufacturing process.  Must be able to absorb training instructions and accurately follow the required processes.  Measuring gages during the manufacturing process is required as well.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate lapping machines to complete each step of the manufacturing plan.
  • Taking precise measurements for cutting or shaping
  • Verify the gage with precision and measuring tools.
  • Continually monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues.
  • Check parts to ensure machine-related mistakes or flaws do not exist.
  • Collaborate with your co-workers and supervisor to problem solve and meet deadlines.
  • Perform cleaning and basic maintenance of work areas and the machines.
  • Must be able to meet the daily job assignment set by Production Supervisor, and consistently produce high-quality work.
  • Ability to listen and follow through with instructions.
  • Must be self-motivated you will be working independently.
  • Must be meticulous, attention to detail and double check everything.
  • Must be able to use problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues that arise during the manufacturing process.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to reduce the risk of workplace accidents.
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
Candidate requirements:
 
  • Prior machine operating experience a plus, but we will train.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
