About the role:
 
A gage washer is primarily responsible for ensuring that precision gages are thoroughly cleaned, maintained, and ready for use. This role is vital manufacturing.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Cleaning and Sanitization: Perform detailed cleaning of gages using approved chemicals, solvents, and wash equipment. This ensures that contaminants are eliminated and that the tools provide accurate measurements during quality inspections.
 
  • Maintenance and Inspection inspect gages for signs of wear, residue build-up, or damage. Escalate issues to supervisors or technical support when required. Maintaining an orderly and operational wash station is part of this responsibility.
 
  • Calibration Assistance: While not always responsible for full calibration, the gage washer may support calibration processes by ensuring that gages are cleaned to proper standards before their accuracy is verified through calibration procedures. Documentation of cleaning cycles and any maintenance performed is crucial to traceability.
 
  • Workspace Organizing and Safety: Keep the work area organized and adhere to all safety protocols. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning agents and following industry-specific guidelines, such as OSHA standards.
 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance teams and calibration technicians to ensure seamless integration of the cleaning process with the organization’s overall production and quality control procedures. This might also involve providing guidance or basic training to other team members regarding proper cleaning methods.
 
  • Must be able to meet the daily job assignment set by Production Supervisor, and consistently produce high-quality work.
 
  • Ability to listen and follow through with instructions.
 
  • Performs all other duties assigned.
Candidate requirements:
 
  • Prior calibration/measuring experience a plus, but we will train.
  • Ability to perform precision tasks with keen eyesight and focus.
  • Requires find motor skills for precise handling of tools, gages and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or GED.
