Machinist
Job Summary:
Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Diversified work.
• Construct and assemble various special gages for measuring thickness, inside and outside diameters, concentricity, angles, depths, grooves, chamfers, and various other special purposes.
• Perform manual tool room machining operations, which require various regular and exacting setups to maintain close tolerances.
• Benchwork tasks involve filing, lapping, fitting, assembling, and adjusting to meet drawing specifications, usually assisted by a higher-class gage maker in the more difficult phases of machine setup and assembly of gages.
• Recognize and report for correction of basic blueprint errors such as missing dimensions or spelling.
• Maintain close tolerances.
• Detect faulty operation or defective material and report these and other questionable conditions to the foreman.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic understanding of manual machining practices
• Basic use of measuring equipment
• Basic blueprint reading
• Mechanical aptitude
• Attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and take instruction
• Maintain quality to customer satisfaction
• Able to work in a team environment
• Able to maintain a safe work environment
• Able to lift 40lbs
